Stainless Steel Fire Hose Reel Complete 25mm x 30m
$633.00
Complete 25mm x 30m stainless steel fixed fire hose reel — corrosion-resistant for marine, coastal and harsh environments. All installation components included: ball valve, nozzle locking device, hose guide and union.
Description
A complete stainless steel 25mm × 30m wall-mounted fire hose reel for marine, coastal, and corrosive environments where a standard steel reel would corrode. Stainless steel construction on the drum body, fittings, and hardware provides long-term corrosion resistance in salt air, high-humidity locations, coastal commercial buildings, marinas, offshore facilities, and food processing environments with wash-down. The 25mm bore delivers higher water flow than a standard 19mm system. All installation components included: 25mm × 30m hose, ball valve with nozzle locking device, hose guide, union, and wall bracket.
This product is for commercial and industrial locations where the fire safety plan specifies a 25mm hose reel system and where the environment requires stainless steel over standard powder-coated steel. If a 19mm system is specified and the environment is non-corrosive, the standard 19mm LKS or Flamestop hose reels are the appropriate choice.

Compliance & Servicing
Installation must comply with AS 2441 by a qualified fire protection installer and licensed plumber. Stainless steel fittings must be compatible with the building water supply chemistry — advise your plumber if the supply water has unusual chemistry. Ongoing maintenance under AS 1851 requires 6-monthly inspection and annual full service. Stainless steel is highly durable but inspect the valve, hose, and bracket at each service as usual — corrosion resistance does not eliminate the need for regular maintenance of all moving and wear components.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where Stainless Steel 25mm Reels Are Specified
- Marine vessels and waterfront facilities
- Coastal commercial buildings with direct salt air exposure
- Offshore platforms and marine infrastructure
- Food processing, pharmaceutical, and wash-down environments
- Humid industrial environments — chemical plants, breweries, wet production areas
- Any location where standard steel hose reels have previously corroded
Standard Steel vs Stainless Steel — When to Specify Stainless
- Standard steel (powder coat) — indoor commercial; correct for the majority of office, retail, and industrial buildings; lower cost
- Stainless steel (this product) — coastal, marine, food processing, and any location where powder-coat steel corrodes within its expected service life; higher upfront cost, lower lifecycle cost in corrosive environments
Why specify stainless steel for a fire hose reel in a coastal environment?
Powder-coated steel will corrode in salt air environments — typically starting at welded joints, cut edges, and fastener points where the coating is thinnest or compromised. Once corrosion begins, it progresses through the steel underneath the coating without being visible. In a fire safety device that must perform reliably, premature corrosion failure is unacceptable. Stainless steel is inherently resistant to salt-air corrosion — the material itself does not rust under ordinary coastal conditions. The higher upfront cost is offset by a significantly longer service life, fewer replacement cycles, and reliable performance at every AS 1851 service interval.
Is 25mm appropriate for a marine vessel?
Hose reel specification on vessels is governed by the vessel’s fire safety plan and applicable marine standards (NSCV for commercial vessels, AS 3068 for recreational vessels, SOLAS for international commercial shipping). The 25mm bore provides higher flow which may be specified for larger commercial vessels. For specific vessel requirements, the naval architect or marine surveyor responsible for the fire safety plan will specify the correct hose size. This reel is appropriate for waterfront facilities and fixed marine installations as well as vessels where a 25mm system is specified.
What is the difference between this and the 19mm stainless steel reel?
The 25mm bore delivers more water per minute at the same supply pressure than a 19mm bore. This is specified for higher-flow applications — larger commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and locations where the fire safety engineer or marine surveyor has called up a 25mm system. The 25mm hose is also shorter (30m vs 36m for the 19mm) because the larger diameter makes the fully wound hose heavier. If your fire safety plan specifies 19mm, use the 19mm stainless steel model. If it specifies 25mm, use this one.
Does the stainless steel construction cover all fittings?
The stainless steel designation covers the drum body and primary construction material. Confirm with the product specifications or contact us if you need to verify the material specification of individual fittings (valve body, union, hose guide) for your specific application. In environments with particularly aggressive chemistry — chlorinated water, acidic wash-down agents — confirming material compatibility of all wetted components is important.
How long will a stainless steel hose reel last in a coastal environment?
A well-maintained stainless steel fire hose reel should provide 20+ years of service in coastal conditions where a standard steel reel might need replacement in 5–8 years. The limiting factors will be the hose material (which degrades from UV and age regardless of the drum material) and the valve seals. At each AS 1851 service, the technician will assess hose condition and valve operation — these components will eventually need replacement even when the drum body remains in perfect condition.
