Description

The 9kg ABE is the largest handheld ABE fire extinguisher in the standard range, delivering maximum fire-fighting capacity for industrial sites, warehouses, plant rooms, and mining environments. Brass hose ferrules make it suitable for underground and mining applications. Approved and manufactured to AS/NZS 1841.5.

Compliance & Servicing

Manufactured to AS/NZS 1841.5. In accordance with AS 1851, fire extinguishers must be inspected every 6 months and serviced annually by a licensed fire protection technician. Placement requirements for high-risk areas should be confirmed with your fire protection technician against AS 2444.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need a 9kg instead of a 4.5kg?
The 9kg ABE is typically specified for higher-risk environments, larger floor areas, or locations with a greater potential fuel load — such as warehouses, industrial sites, and plant rooms. Your fire protection technician or risk assessment under AS 2444 will determine the correct size for your premises.

Is the 9kg ABE suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The high-gloss UV resistant powder coat and corrosion-resistant steel cylinder are designed for Australian outdoor conditions. However, all extinguishers should be protected from prolonged direct exposure to extreme weather where possible.

Can I mount a 9kg extinguisher on a vehicle?
Yes. The 9kg ABE is commonly mounted on trucks, heavy vehicles, and mine site equipment. Brass hose ferrules make it compliant for underground and mining environments. Use a rated vehicle bracket appropriate for the weight.

How often does the 9kg need to be serviced?
Every 6 months for inspection and annually for a full service by a licensed fire protection technician, as required by AS 1851. A maintenance test tag is included.

Does it come with a wall bracket?
Yes — a wall bracket and maintenance test tag are included as standard.
